🎓 Program Overview
The MSc in Sustainability, Innovation & Technology (MSc SIT) is designed to empower learners with the skills, knowledge, and mindset to drive meaningful change in organisations and society.
Through a curriculum that integrates sustainability principles, innovative thinking, and technological literacy, this program prepares you to design and implement solutions for a more sustainable and equitable future.
The MSc SIT is structured into four distinct phases — Orientation, Calibration, Elevation, and Activation — guiding you from foundational learning to real-world application and research.

đź§ Phase 1: Orientation (35 ECTS)
Purpose: Getting started and setting the foundation
The Orientation Phase ensures you are well-prepared to succeed in your MSc SIT journey. You’ll be introduced to Tomorrow University’s unique learning model, academic standards, and vibrant community of peers, faculty, and industry partners.
This phase consists of seven challenges, each lasting three weeks, with a final deliverable per challenge. Each challenge is worth 5 ECTS.

Sustainability Foundations – Explore the core principles of sustainability.
 - 
Intro to Entrepreneurship – Understand entrepreneurial thinking and innovation.

Technology Revolutions – Investigate the role of emerging technologies in transformation.
 - 
Introduction to Digital Strategy – Learn about digital transformation frameworks.
 - 
Orientation Group Challenge – Apply your learning in a collaborative project.
 
⚙️ Phase 2: Calibration (15 or 45 ECTS)
Purpose: Customising your learning journey through specialisation
The Calibration Phase allows you to tailor your studies based on your professional goals and interests.
Depending on your program version, you will complete either 90 ECTS or 120 ECTS in total:

MSc SIT (90 ECTS): Complete 1 Impact Certificate (IC)
 - 
MSc SIT (120 ECTS): Complete 3 Impact Certificates (ICs)
 
Each Impact Certificate is composed of three challenges and is worth 15 ECTS.
You can select from a variety of ICs to design your own specialisation or follow a predefined specialisation track, combining three ICs focused on a specific domain such as AI for Sustainability, Innovation & Technology Management, or Climate Action.

🚀 Phase 3: Elevation (20 ECTS)
Purpose: Expanding your impact and exploring advanced applications
The Elevation Phase focuses on applying your learning to complex, interdisciplinary challenges. You’ll work on projects that simulate real-world contexts, pushing you to translate ideas into scalable solutions.
What to Expect

Complete two Elevation Challenges worth 10 ECTS each.

Engage in problem-solving experiences that integrate sustainability, innovation, and technology.

Apply advanced tools and frameworks to create tangible impact.

Receive feedback from experts and peers.
 - 
Begin developing your thesis or applied project concept for the next phase.
 
🎓 Phase 4: Activation (20 ECTS)
Purpose: Driving real-world impact through research and innovation
The Activation Phase marks the culmination of the MSc SIT journey — where theory meets practice.
You’ll design, test, and present an innovation or research project that demonstrates your ability to lead positive change using sustainable technologies.
Learners join one of Tomorrow University’s Activation Labs, including the Innovation & Technology Lab, where they can:
- 
Advance their own innovation or research project,
 - 
Join a ToU-led initiative, or
 - 
Collaborate with external partners such as Fraunhofer AHEAD or other research institutions.
 
What to Expect
- 
Define and execute your Master’s Thesis or Applied Project under faculty supervision.
 - 
Engage in milestone-based sessions guiding you from proposal to defense.
 - 
Collaborate with peers, mentors, and industry partners to refine your work.
 - 
Present your final project or thesis to an academic and industry panel.
 
This phase demonstrates your ability to bridge sustainability, innovation, and technology — translating knowledge into measurable, real-world outcomes.
