The MSc in Sustainability, Innovation & Technology (MSc SIT) is designed to empower learners with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to drive meaningful change. The program is structured into four distinct phases: Orientation, Calibration, Elevation, and Activation. Each phase is tailored to guide you through different stages of your learning journey, from foundational knowledge to impactful application.
Phase 1: Orientation
Duration: approx. 26 weeks
Purpose: Getting started and setting the foundation
The Orientation Phase ensures that you are well-prepared to succeed in the MSc SIT. This phase introduces you to the Tomorrow University learning model, key academic expectations, and the community of learners, faculty, and industry partners. It consists of seven challenges, each lasting three weeks with a final deliverable per challenge.
Challenges:
- Mission Identification – Define your purpose and learning goals.
- Build Your Dream Team – Learn about teamwork and collaboration.
- Sustainability Foundations – Explore the core principles of sustainability.
- Intro to Entrepreneurship – Understand entrepreneurial thinking and innovation.
- Technology Revolutions – Investigate emerging technological trends.
- Introduction to Digital Strategy – Learn about digital transformation and strategy.
- Orientation Group Challenge – Collaborate with peers on a final project.
Phase 2: Calibration
Duration: approx. 30 weeks
Purpose: Customizing your learning journey
The Calibration Phase allows you to choose your specialization by selecting Impact Certificates (ICs). If you are enrolled in the 90 ECTS version, you select 1 IC; if you are in the 120 ECTS version, you select 3 ICs. Each IC consists of three challenges, allowing you to develop expertise in your chosen field.
Additionally, you have the option to select a specialization, which is a combination of three ICs. The full list of available specializations can be found here: MSc Specialization Tracks.

Joint MSc with Le Wagon
If you are part of the Joint MSc with Le Wagon, you will participate in a Bootcamp, which is equivalent to one IC. You can choose from the following Bootcamps:
- Data Analytics
- Data Science & AI
- Web Development & AI
- Growth Marketing
This option allows you to gain specialized expertise from Le Wagon while integrating it into your MSc SIT learning journey.
Phase 3: Elevation
Duration: 10-12 weeks
Purpose: Expanding your impact and exploring advanced applications
During the Elevation Phase, you deepen your expertise by applying your learning to more complex, interdisciplinary challenges. You will work on projects that simulate real-world scenarios and test your ability to drive innovation at scale.
What to Expect:
- MSc SIT learners select two optional Elevation Challenges.
- Joint MSc with Le Wagon learners will be allocated to one Personalized ToU-Elevation Challenge.
- Engage in advanced problem-solving challenges that require critical thinking and strategic decision-making.
- Apply emerging technologies and methodologies to sustainability-related projects.
- Receive expert feedback and mentorship from industry leaders and academic supervisors.
- Start shaping your thesis or final project idea, aligning it with your professional and impact goals.
Phase 4: Activation
Duration: 6-12 months
Purpose: Driving impact and completing your thesis/project
The Activation Phase is the culmination of your MSc SIT journey, where you apply everything you’ve learned to create a tangible, impactful outcome. Whether you develop a research thesis, a startup venture, or a transformative innovation project, this phase is about real-world application and measurable impact.
What to Expect:
- Define and execute your Master’s thesis or final project under expert supervision.
- Join an Activation Lab (Entrepreneurship, Research & Innovation, or Transformation) for structured guidance.
- Collaborate with industry partners and stakeholders to ensure your project has real-world impact.
- Develop and present your final work to academic and industry panels.
