A look into the different channels and how to best utilise them
The ToU Slack Community is at the heart of how we stay connected with each other. Through our Slack Community, not only will you keep in touch with learners in your intake, but it is your portal to connecting with your global community, and finding the networks that will help you turn your mission into action.
📣Our main Community channels and their purpose
- Community News: Get the latest scoop of what’s going on, consider this the ToU Community HQ. Join here
- Introductions: Introduce yourself and find out more about other new learners. Join here
- Your Community: Ask questions or start discussions with your peers. Join here
- Events: Find out what events are coming up in the ToU Community, or find and share interesting events local to you. Join here
- Jobs & Opportunities: Find out about new job postings, conferences or other opportunities, or post these yourself! Join here
- Content Library: Share content or news fellow learners may find useful, thought provoking or inspiring. Join here
- Socials Showcase: Share your social posts with other learners so we know what you're up to and can recognise and raise your visibility across our global networks. Join here
- Kudos & Shoutouts: Let the community who you are grateful for and who is modelling our Community Values. Join here
- Travel Plans: Tell us where you are and where you’re going and link up with other ToU peeps. Join here
💭Learning & Study Channels
Every learner is added to a Program channel when they join ToU. This is where you can find and connect with peers on your Program who started the same time as you. This is also where you can connect with your Program Director. Your Program channel includes your Program name and start date and year, e.g. #-bx-sept-25
Alongside this channel, for each Challenge you will join a Challenge channel. This is where you can connect with the Challenge Owner (the expert who delivers your live sessions), tutors and each other. Challenge channels typically start with #-chl-
🚀 Mission Group Channels
Your Mission Group channel is your space to connect with your Mission Group throughout your studies. This is where we match and introduce you. How you use this space is completely up to you. Your mission group channel starts with #-mission-group-
🌍Action Hubs
Have a look at our various Action Hub Slack channels (they all start with the prefix -m) and join the one closest to you. Interested in being an Action Hub Lead and organising get togethers in your region supported by ToU? Get in touch!
🤔Interest Channels
Want to start your own channel? These channels are learner-led and owned! Reach out to your Community Manager Jordan Hurcombe via DM to let her know if you want to start a channel and add it to the community!
