Check out when and where we will be together in 2026!

What are Immersions?
Our flagship Community Immersions bring our global community of changemakers together, blending virtual and in-person experiences to connect, learn and collaborate around themes aligned with the ToU mission.
Each Community Immersion combines a programme of virtual events with a focused in-person gathering, providing learners with opportunities to engage deeply with the topic, hear from experts, gain inspiration from peers and create hands on impact. Our Anchor Immersion in Berlin in particular, offers a longer, more meaningful in-person experience for those travelling from further afield.
Community Immersions are designed to foster connections, spark ideas and leave a lasting impact - we can’t wait to see you there!

Why these locations and times?
Our 2026 immersion locations are chosen to maximise accessibility and positive local impact. Anchor immersions provide deeper, longer experiences for learners traveling from further afield, while shorter immersions allow us to bring us together more frequently.
Each Immersion is scheduled to coincide with welcoming new learners into our Community. We have also tried to avoid peak times such as school and public holidays.
We selected cities based on strength of transport links, affordability, civic and sustainability credentials, favouring places that are more affordable but with a strong community infrastructure, ethical practices and opportunities for collaboration.
Through being together in person, our aim is also to benefit local communities through partnerships with local organisations, volunteering and contributions to social initiatives, ensuring our presence creates meaningful, lasting impact.
And of course, your voices were key to shaping our approach for the next year. You can check out the analysis from our In Person Experience Survey here, and how this fed into our plans.
Who can attend an in person Immersion?
Immersions are open to all degree learners and Alumni who have completed their studies. We sometimes open up elements of the in person Immersions to people who are interested in studying with us, but have not yet joined. If you would like to invite someone to attend an Immersion, please reach out to us first.
What if I can't attend an in person Immersion?
Community Immersions are completely optional events designed to complement the broader remote learning journey. They offer a chance to connect with peers, hear from experts and explore a specific theme in depth, online and in person.
As travel and accommodation for in person Immersions is self paid, we know for some that cost is a barrier. In 2026 we will be exploring partnerships and routes to try and reduce this pressure as much as possible to open up our Immersions to more of our Community, but please only plan to attend if you feel you can financially afford to.
In 2026, we will also be investing more time and resource into supporting and expanding our Action Hubs, including outside of Europe.
What if I can't attend all of the in person Immersion?
For our in person elements, learners can choose how to participate;
-
Single day attendance: Join for key sessions, networking or specific workshops
-
Full Immersion: Attend the complete in-person programme for a deeper, more immersive connection
We only ask that when you register, you let us know for which days you are planning to attend, so we can be ready for you!
How do I find out more and sign up?
You can save the date for our 2026 in person Immersions through registering via the events page in the Learning App. These will be live by end of October 2025. Keep an eye on our Community News Slack Channel and the monthly Community newsletter email for more information.
When you register via the events page, you will be invited to complete a registration form and join the Immersion Slack channel. Your place is only confirmed once you have completed the full registration form. The Slack channel will be your go to source of key updates, such as the schedule, and where you can connect with other learners to plan travelling and accommodation.
