This is an asynchronous challenge (meaning no live sessions except for Pitch Day) that runs in parallel to your studies after you've completed Orientation Phase.

👣 Key Steps to Get Started:

Sign up for the challenge in the App: Sign up here (or find it in Orientation Phase in your Learning App)
Join the Slack channel: #-chl-mba-orientation-group-challenge-async .
Form a group (3-4 people recommended, max. 5).
Pick a topic area using the datasets in Milestone 1 (e.g., food, education, biodiversity). If you choose a different topic, ensure it’s backed by solid data!
Nominate a spokesperson/team lead and submit your group details & topic here: Submit Form
Get matched with a mentor – your team lead will receive an email from us within 7 days after the submission deadline for your group set-up (please check the Slack channel for your intake's timeline).

❓ FAQ

🔹 Is this challenge mandatory for the MBA?

As the challenge renders 0 ECTS, you would graduate without it. However, it will mess up your learning progress in the App, as we consider it a vital part of your curriculum and your ToU learning experience.

So far, this has been the favorite challenge of previous intakes, so we are positive you will gain something valuable from it.

🔹 What does asynchronous challenge mean?

This challenge has no live sessions apart from the Pitch Presentation Session in the end. You have to self-organize and self-pace your project work within your teams to complete the task. The Milestones and Resources in the App are there to give you guidance and support, if you need it.

🔹 We want to work in a group of less than 3 or more than 5 people, is that possible?

Although from experience we do not recommend only to work as pair or in groups bigger than 5 people, the decision is up to you.

🔹 Can I complete this challenge on my own, too?

No. This is a group challenge. The challenge will only be marked as passed, if you have mastered the art of team work.

🔹 I don't seem to be able to sign up for the challenge – what to do?

Signup for you only works up until the challenge starts, e.g., if the challenge has started on March 3, signup closes on March 3 at 8am CET. After that, you're not able to sign in on your own.

🔹 I can't make it to Pitch Day – what do I do?

Pitch Day is obligatory for everyone to attend. However, we know life happens. Please align with your group and find a solution so they can represent your team on Pitch Day.
