As per German higher education regulations, Tomorrow University is required to calculate and display an overall final grade for each graduate. This grade appears on the Transcript of Records and is expressed using the German grading system, which ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 5.0 (fail).
🇩🇪 Why the German Grading System?
Tomorrow University is based in Germany and subject to its academic regulations. To ensure national and international recognition of your degree, final grades must follow the German system for all official degree documents.
🧮 How Your Final Overall Grade Is Calculated
Your final grade is a weighted arithmetic mean of all your graded challenges, calculated as follows:
-
Each challenge grade is multiplied by the number of ECTS credits the challenge carries.
-
The results are added together.
-
This total is then divided by the total number of ECTS credits in your program (60, 90, 120 or 180 ECTS, depending on the program).
-
Only the first digit after the decimal point is considered; digits after the first decimal place are truncated (not rounded).
⚠️ Important Notes
-
Only challenges that contribute ECTS credits to your program count toward the final grade.
- Only challenges that are evaluated with a numerical grade count toward the final grade (i.e. pass/fail evaluations will not be considered in the final grade).
-
The final overall grade will appear on your Transcript of Records and Diploma Supplement.
-
Appeals or corrections to grade calculations must be submitted by the published deadline.
If you have questions about your grade calculation, please contact the Registration Team at enrollment@tomorrow.university.
