Understand how the 4-week grace period policy supports your learning experience at Tomorrow University
At Tomorrow University, the final submission deadline for each challenge is listed in the Capstone milestone, the very last milestone in all challenges. To make steady progress in your program and stay on track, all learners are expected to submit their final deliverables by this deadline.
Starting from November 25, 2024 we are implementing a 4-week grace period for all challenges, starting from each challenge’s final submission deadline. The grace period provides you with clear and structured flexibility if you need more time to complete your challenge. This will apply to all challenges starting November 25, 2024 and after.
Within this grace period, you will be able to submit your final deliverables. After the grace period is over, deliverable submission will no longer be possible, and you will need to re-take the challenge.
Learners who have open challenges that began before November 25, 2024 have until December 30, 2024 to complete their challenges. Effectively, December 30, 2024 becomes the end of the challenge grace period regardless of when these open challenges took place.

How does this policy work in practice?
What does this change mean for me? What do I need to do differently?
Ensure that you submit your final deliverables by the final submission deadline or as close to it as possible. This has always been the expectation at Tomorrow University; this policy simply provides more structure and firmer guidelines within which you can submit your work.Additionally, pay close attention to the email reminders you will receive to notify you that a challenge's final submission deadline is approaching. You will also receive reminders throughout the 4-week grace period:
-
- Leading up to a challenge's final submission deadline, you'll receive email reminders
- 1 week before the final submission deadline
- 2 days before final submission deadline
- The day of the final submission deadline
- Within the 4-week grace period, you'll receive email reminders
- When the 4-week grace period has begun
- 1 week before the 4-week grace period is complete
- 48 hours before the 4-week grace period is complete
- Leading up to a challenge's final submission deadline, you'll receive email reminders
When should I submit my final deliverables?
Submit your final deliverables by the final submission deadline or as close to it as possible.
What if I submit my deliverables close to the end of the 4-week grace period?
Given that it currently takes 7-14 days for your work to be assessed, if you submit your work during the second 2 weeks of the grace period and your work has not met the assessment criteria, there is a high likelihood that you will receive a Not Yet Achieved on your challenge and will have to re-take it.
We are working to reduce the time it takes for your work to be assessed. While we work on this, we recommend that you strive to submit your final deliverables as close to the submission deadline as possible. When this is not possible, aim to submit within the first 2 weeks of the 4-week grace period so that you have time to re-work your deliverables if needed.
What happens if I submit within the 4-week grace period, but my assessment results come in after the grace period is over?
If you met all of the assessment criteria, you will received an achieved or beyond in your challenge.
If the assessment criteria have not been sufficiently met, you will need to re-take the challenge. Therefore, we advise you to submit your deliverables as close to the original deadline as possible so that you have time to re-work your deliverables if needed.
What does it mean to re-take a challenge?
Sign up for the challenge again the next time it is taking place, participate in live sessions, and go through all the in-app learning content. If some of the content is identical to what you’ve already completed before, you will not have to re-do it.
You will be able to sign up for the next time the challenge is taking place in the learning app directly. All challenges take place every 3-4 months, and we encourage you to re-take the challenge as soon as possible to not lose track of what you've learned.
How can I avoid having to re-take a challenge?
Pay close attention to the assessment criteria for your final challenge deliverables, and submit your work by the submission deadline or as close to it as possible.
What happens if I get a Not Yet Achieved on my deliverable the first time I submit?
If you receive your assessment results within the 4-week grace period, you can resubmit your work.
If you receive your results after the 4-week grace period, you will need to re-take the challenge.
I have open challenges now that began before Nov 25, 2024. What can I do to avoid having to re-take them?
Submit your final deliverables as soon as possible and before December 30, 2024.
Learners who have open challenges that began before November 25, 2024 have until December 30, 2024 to complete their challenges. Effectively, December 30, 2024 becomes the end of the challenge grace period regardless of when these open challenges took place.
What if I cannot submit within the 4 week grace period? How can I request an extension?
If you are unable to submit your deliverables within the 4 week grace period, you may eligible for a 1-week long extension, as long as you have, by the time you submit a request,:
- Completed all lessons and milestones for the challenge
- Attended at least one live session
Here are the eligibility criteria:
- You missed the deadline because you were ill: Please note that you will be required to upload a doctor's note, or proof of hospitalisation.
- You missed the deadline due to the death of a family member.
- You missed the deadline due to a technical error in the app: Our team will investigate and resolve the technical error and you will be granted an extension.
- Other exigent circumstances: these will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
